Keratin smoothing: how long it lasts, and who it’s for

If you’re battling frizz or want quicker styling, a keratin smoothing treatment could be your best friend.

What it does

Keratin smoothing temporarily improves smoothness, shine and manageability by sealing the cuticle. It’s not a straightening perm — think frizz reduction and faster blow-dries, while keeping natural movement.

How long does it last?

Typically 3–5 months, depending on your hair, how often you wash, and your aftercare. Sulphate-free shampoo/conditioner and heat protection help maximise longevity. Avoid salt/chlorine where possible.

Who it’s best for

  • Wavy/curly hair that goes frizzy in humidity

  • Thick hair that takes ages to blow-dry

  • Anyone who wants gloss and reduced styling time

The appointment

Expect 2–4 hours depending on hair length/thickness. We deep-cleanse, apply the smoothing formula, then seal and finish with a sleek blow-dry. You’ll leave with aftercare advice tailored to you.

Good to know: Keratin won’t lift colour. If you’re colouring and smoothing, we’ll plan the order/timing during your consult.

Next steps: Book a consultation to check suitability and patch test if needed.
